About The Hammond Family Tree
Welcome to the Hammond Family Tree! We are the family of Mark Anthony Hammond (1875-
1949) and his wife Vilinda (Linnie) Harness (1880-1972). Mark and Linnie reared
their family in Portsmouth, OH on Union Street. Their children stayed close to home,
so the grandchildren are a closeknit group. A family reunion is held each summer,
and it is well attended by several generations of Hammonds and their inlaws.
This family tree is a work in progress, so please excuse the errors and omissions.
If we list you as deceased, and you are not, please come to the reunion or let us
know... Seriously, send us additions and corrections and we will try to update the
tree. Please check the info on Mark and Linnie and their children and grandchildren
carefully, and send in info on any other descendents.
The 2010 Reunion will be held Saturday, July 3rd, at Earl Thomas Conley Park in West
Portsmouth, OH. Make plans now to attend and participate in the cake contest and
surprise package auction.
The 2009 First Cousins Dinner was held Saturday, October 17th, at Damons
Restaurant on Second and Chillicothe Streets. Nine first cousins and several spouses
attended. The group honored Pauline and Bob since "Life Begins at 80." Plans for a
First and Second Cousins Dinner were discussed. Don emceed a karaoke contest that
soon became the Gong Show. Terry gave a tour of The Hammond Family Tree.
